Show Time!

This week marks the beginning of the busy season for selling soap. My first show is this Saturday at the Overland Park Fall Festival. It will be packed with vendors, free concerts and kids’ activities, plus a parade and a motorcycle show. This will be my third year participating. Last year, my older daughter came with me and gave out soap and lotion samples. She was awesome!! I paid her a commission on the lotions she sold, so now she’s ready to go back this year and make some money again!

The following Saturday, October 2nd, I will be participating in a new event (for me): the Kaw Valley Farm Tour. I was invited to set up at Screamin Oaks Farm – the place where I buy fresh goat’s milk for soap. There are 21 farms on the tour, and the cost is just $10 per vehicle. It would be worth $10 just to visit Screamin Oaks alone, in my opinion. I brought my girls the first time I bought milk, and they had a blast! You can read about our adventures here and here. If you happen to be local to Douglas or Johnson County, Kansas, and would like more information or buy a ticket online, visit the Kaw Valley Farm Tour website.

I’ll have more shows coming as well, but these two are coming up fast! Anyone else scrambling to get products made for the holiday season?
