Almost Paradise Soap: Final Reveal

Ok, the suspense is finally over! Here is one of the best out of the batch:

Almost Paradise Soap by Great Cakes Soapworks

Like my photoshop skills? I know you thought I drove all the way to the beach from Kansas just to take this picture! Ha!

So I have about half the batch (or 24 bars) that turned out decent enough to sell at full price like the soap you see above. The rest have obvious holes in them, so I cut them into small bars to sell at a discount. I also have various pieces to put in online orders as samples:

Holy Moly Almost Paradise Soap

I also have 24 bars of greyish blue soap that I think I will sell at full price as well. It’s not beautiful, but it’s not ugly either, and it smells SO GOOD. My younger daughter thinks it should be called “Foggy Mist”. She’s a pretty smart girl!

The good soap next to the plain soap

This soap will need to cure for a couple more weeks, and will be available at Greatcakessoapworks.com on Friday, August 20 – but I will tell you that my hubby turns 40 the next day, so I may not be shipping orders until Monday the 23rd! (I will probably start sending out the sample pieces as soon as this weekend!)

  1. Wow, I love how it turned out! So cool! I think Foggy Mist is a great name for the other soap. It looks great too!

  2. Could you be any more creative? LOVE THIS! And your daughter picked a great name for the grayish soap too!

  3. WOW! That’s FABULOUS! My hat’s off to you! You’ve taken this “soap thang” to a whole new level in my book -I’ve no doubt this soap was INSPIRED!
It’s goin’ on MY blog, too!

  4. @Crystal – Not bad for someone who’s about to be 7 years old tomorrow, huh?
@Becky – Thanks for the publicity. I’m blushing!

  5. I love this soap and the whole story behind it. I had been thinking of designing some kind of beach soap as well. Maybe one day. Thanks for sharing your labour of love! xo Jen PS. How can I “follow” your blog from blogspot?

  6. Wow, nice work! These look so cool. I don’t think you’re ‘plain’ soap looks grey, looks a light pretty blue to me.

  7. Thank you, ladies! Jennifer, you can’t follow from blogspot. You can either sign up for an email subscription – in the right sidebar, or use a reader. The RSS feed is located the bottom of each post. I use the Google reader myself so I can see all the blogs I follow in one place, no matter which blogging platform is used.
