On the Curing Rack: Black Raspberry Creme – again!

I absolutely had to make another batch of Black Raspberry Creme soap! The last batch didn’t even make it to the farmer’s market before it sold out!

I’ve attempted to make them the same as the last batch, but the soap batter was a bit thicker this time – which I actually like better. Still plenty of sparkle on top too!

A four-week cure time will make these available June 20th – however, I now have a fan in my curing area and it seems to be speeding up the cure times considerably. In fact, I had to turn it off because I was afraid it was going to make the natural essential oil soaps lose their scent! So you might see this soap turn up a bit sooner…

  1. Good going Amy it is a pretty combination! Lots of bubbles and I just have to say you make BIG batches! Giant log envy here!

  2. You have a wonderful blog full of great information and inspiring soap photos. Thanks for sharing. I’m curious, how does having the fan in your soap room reduce the soap cure time? Do the bars become harder faster? By Joe much does it reduce your cure time and how do you determine when the soap is ready?

  3. @Andrea – I think it just helps keep the air moving in an otherwise closed-in space. I was having trouble with the bars on the inside of the tray on my rack staying softer than the ones on the outside. Now I think the water is evaporating more evenly. I’m still giving my soaps a good 4-week cure time.
