My girls and I had a very fun time at the Screamin’ Oaks Farm<\/a> on Saturday. We went to pick up some fresh goat’s milk for soap, and ended up experiencing so much more! <\/p>\n

\"Baby,
Baby, the 10-year-old goose<\/figcaption><\/figure>I mentioned that I would show you the 10-year-old goose named Baby. Roxane says that Baby knows the difference between human boys and girls, and she doesn’t particularly care for boys! Baby was squawking quite a bit, but she didn’t nip at us at all. She was apparently protecting the ducks in the pen behind her.<\/p>\n

The lone turkey survivor<\/figcaption><\/figure>This is the turkey. We learned that turkeys are pretty stupid animals, according to Roxane. She says there’s only one because the others all drowned themselves in the water bowls. The domestic turkeys are much more sensitive than their wild counterparts, and can be susceptible to frostbite as well, so she keeps this one in the barn when it’s cold. He’s only about a year old, and has just started to talk. Gobble, gobble! We only heard him talk once while we were there.<\/p>\n

Yolanda the Escape Artist Goat<\/figcaption><\/figure>And then there’s Yolanda, aka YoYo the Escape Artist Goat. Apparently, she’s a bit thinner than the other goats in the pen, so she can squeeze through a very small opening near the gate. She escaped twice while we were there. See all the other goats on the other side of the troughs? That’s where Yolanda is supposed<\/em> to be. She’s a stinker, that one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
