Berry Harvest is the first soap I’ve made with the impressionist swirl<\/a>. I was even going to show you all the video, but then the batteries died in my camera just as I was getting ready to pour! I had never used this fragrance before, so I wasn’t entirely sure how fast it was going to set up. Well, it was a little faster than I was hoping, so I was frantically slinging soap in the mold! <\/p>\n

Berry Harvest Soap by Great Cakes Soapworks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

My ultramarines have been sadly neglected since my stash of beautiful, shiny micas has grown. I decided to dig out some old standbys – ultramarine purple and ultramarine blue – for this batch. The pink is my favorite ruby rose mica, but I don’t think I used enough. In fact, the purple and blue were not as bright as I wanted either. I was able to pull out some grape POP mica and mix it into the purple, but the others were setting up so fast I didn’t dare mess with them. <\/p>\n

The fragrance blend is a straight-up apple and berry scent. I named it Berry Harvest for more of a fall feel. I love that it doesn’t have any added florals or green notes – just straight up sweet and fruity goodness!<\/p>\n

I will definitely be trying out the impressionist swirl again. It turned out great – despite the soap turning thick in a hurry! And next time I will remember to use fresh batteries in my camera…<\/p>\n
