Both of my girls have summer birthdays, so it’s important to know when their half birthdays fall so they can celebrate at school. I woke up Friday morning and thought, “Wow, I bet it’s nearly my older daughter’s half birthday.” Then I calculated the date. Her birthday is July 21st, and guess what Friday’s date was: January 21st! Bingo! I quickly emailed her teacher and asked if we could celebrate – thank goodness she said yes! <\/p>\n

When I went into my daughter’s room to wake her up for school, I proudly announced, “Happy Half Birthday!” as though I knew all along it was that day. Before she left for school, we made plans for me to bring her a McDonald’s happy meal for lunch and ice cream sandwiches for her 4th grade classmates. She was excited to have fried food for lunch, and her classmates were overjoyed to receive their treats as well! Phew.<\/p>\n
