Antique Lilac Soap<\/figcaption><\/figure>I’m pretty sure this is the third year that I’ve made the Antique Lilac soap. It has quite a following, and I only make it once a year – at Springtime, of course! Because I get tired of making the same soap the same way every time, I decided to lighten the base color and make a lilac-colored swirl this year. It reminds me of the Lily of the Valley soap<\/a> with the crackle effect. I think it just adds to the antique effect, don’t you? I went digging in the storage area under our stairs to find some “antiques” for my photo props, and discovered a beautiful old handkerchief with purple flowers on it. I think it belonged to my great-grandmother.<\/p>\n

Those who have smelled this soap know that it really does smell like fresh lilacs. I tested another lilac fragrance earlier in the year to see if I could find one that doesn’t discolor. Didn’t even compare, so I am sticking with the one that smells perfect.<\/p>\n

This soap will be available for purchase at Greatcakessoapworks.com on Monday, May 11, and I plan to bring it to the farmer’s market on Saturday, May 16.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
