I have 5 soap balls in a glass dish on a bathroom sink and I find I keep reaching for a soap ball over the pump top soap right next to it. After gardening, why get the top of a pump dirty when I can just grab a soap ball. They fit nicely in the palm, just a few rolls around and I have soft, creamy lather and no dirty tops I have to scrub after, just a quick dip under the running water and they're fresh as ever.

These are a great size for little hands. Both my kids love using "ball soap" as opposed to "boring bars". It is also a great way to try out new scents.
