We’re On a Mission!

Lainey 201x300 Were On a Mission!

Lainey coming home from the hospital in February

My older daughter has a friend named Lainey. Lainey is in my daughter’s class at school and we also attend the same church. When she was in kindergarten, Lainey was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which is a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestines. It primarily causes ulcerations (breaks in the lining) of the small and large intestines because the immune system is continually activated with or without cause. It goes through cycles of remission and relapse, and this year has been a continuous battle of relapse for Lainey, with three hospital stays since December.

My daughter prays for Lainey every night and is very concerned for her. So when Lainey told their class that she would be walking for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation this Saturday, my daughter wanted to join her and I did too.

Our mission is to raise $250 for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation before the Take Steps to Be Heard Walk that we will be participating in this Saturday. See, we don’t have a lot of extra money to donate, but we do have soap! So for every Handmade Soap Combo (4 soaps for $20) that we sell between now and Saturday, we will donate $10 to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. If you would normally buy soap from Great Cakes Soapworks anyway, please consider buying it this week!

Or, if you have a particular burden for those with Crohn’s & Colitis, you may make a tax deductible donation directly to their foundation here.

We appreciate any support!

    Way to go!!

For someone (as you know) who lives with Crohn’s Disease, I do what I can to support the Crohn’s community. You are doing a wonderful thing. I will re-tweet your soap donation.

    Thank you from a Crohnie!
