Status of Facial Moisturizer Testing

I made my first test batch of facial moisturizer this week, and it didn’t turn out so well either. The texture is fine, but when I was putting it into sample bottles, the warmth from my hands caused some separation. If the emulsion isn’t stable enough to be handled, I’m going to re-formulate!

The good news is that I had a long conversation with another soaper last night and she’s helped me with a new formula that she says is working for her 49-year-old skin, her daughter’s sensitive skin, and her son’s girlfriend’s oily skin. I’m going to adapt it slightly to use some of the wonderful oils and extracts that I already have, plus I ordered a few more goodies last night that have already shipped out and are expected to arrive here on Wednesday. I have high hopes!!

Sounds like you’ll have a great product on hand pretty soon!!!

I got the shea butter lotion yesterday and instantly tried it (my hands are so chafed and raw from constant washing that my knuckles were all bleeding). The lotion brought instant relief and my hands feel and look so much softer now. Plus the smell is fabulous!!

Oh, I’m so glad you like it! Yes, it should do wonders for your dry skin. The shea butter will act as a skin protectant, and won’t wash off like a lotion will.

Woot! Good luck on the new formula!
