Spring Snow

You might recall earlier this month when I was so excited to see signs of Spring coming up in our landscaping beds. I was also pretty vocal about not wanting any snow this Spring. Well….recent weather conditions have changed my mind. My friend Charlotte wisely said that if snow comes in the Spring, at least you know it won’t stick around very long.

We ended up having some pretty nasty weather yesterday. It started with freezing rain, changed to sleet, then to snow, and back and forth between sleet and snow several times during the course of the afternoon. The wind was blowing pretty hard too. I was just glad that I didn’t have anywhere to go, and I could enjoy the beauty of the ice covering the trees, and then the blanket of white snow that did eventually add up to several inches. Here are some pictures I took during the storm:

Here’s a comparison shot of the neighbor’s yard during the storm, and then this morning. You can see the accumulation of snow – and the beauty of the sun coming out.

I also captured this bird right outside the window.

Of course, my girls thought the snow was fantastic! They made some huge snow balls, and a snow man this morning after church with some neighbors. There were plenty of smaller snow balls that got tossed around as well!

It’s a good thing they had fun this morning because this afternoon, just as Charlotte predicted, the snow is nearly gone.
