On the Curing Rack: Watermelon Soap
I mentioned to my Preferred Customers that I started the watermelon soap last week. It’s a two-day process to get all the layers made. I had to refer back to the tutorial that I wrote for Bonnie Bath Pro last year to see how I made it the first time! Unfortunately, my notes were a bit sparse. I actually had to make the green rind twice because the first time it set up too quickly – and that was without any fragrance added! Fortunately, it’s a small part of the soap, and I’ve started another box for Clean the World. Ahem.
Next time I will take better notes on the amount of colorant to use. The pink is a bit lighter this time around, but still gives the impression of a watermelon slice. Good thing the fragrance is so mouthwatering delicious!!
I’m planning to make these available for purchase on Friday, August 13.

EEK! This is the cutest watermelon soap ever! I absolutely love the detailed rind. And who can resist a Watermelon fragrance? It smells like candy

Why thank you! I’m loving this watermelon fragrance – it’s actually not so candy-like. More like real watermelon – even hints of green rind! I passed one around in a baggie at my networking lunch today and the ladies were all enthralled.

Thanks, gals! It’s more work than a “regular” soap, but the customers seem to appreciate them! And that’s why I only make one batch, once a year.
