On the Curing Rack: Amber Fig
My idea was to make some lighter colored layers to contrast with the dark ones, but I needed another fragrance that would complement the Chocolate Amber and not discolor the soap. I came up with a Brown Sugar & Fig scent (thus the name Amber Fig) which only discolors to a medium tan. I used a lot less fragrance in the lighter colored layers so the Amber is still predominant. I also added some titanium dioxide to lighten them even more, as well as a few poppy seeds for interest and a bit of exfoliating action.
Both the Chocolate Amber and Brown Sugar & Fig scents behaved perfectly, although not identically. The Chocolate Amber set up a bit quicker, which is why the layers aren’t perfectly straight, but you get the idea. The darker layers will continue to get darker as the soap cures so that the contrast will be even greater by the time these are ready to sell. I’m going to give them three weeks to work their magic. Check back around March 3rd to get your hands on these.
What do you think? Should I add the Great Cakes Soapworks stamp to these as well, or leave them as is?

I vote for the stamp for sure – maybe with a little gold mica rubbed on for some sparkle? What a fabulous sounding blend too!

They’re gorgeous! I love the neutral on neutral color. I’d definitely add the stamp.
