Lip Butter…For Dogs?

I recently had a conversation on Facebook with one of my high school classmates who bought some soap from me. I had included an Orange Cremesicle Lip Butter in her order, and she was telling me how much she loved it.

My friend: “I love the lip butter. And so does one of my dogs. Everytime I have it on, she puts her nose right up to my lips and just sniffs. It’s hilarious.”

Me: “Ha! Do be careful though – one of my customers told me her dog ate her entire Vanilla Latte lip butter! Not that it would hurt the dog… I’m just sayin’.”

My friend: “LOL. I know she will eat it. She eats anything.”

Two days later….

My friend: “SHE ATE IT! I knew it would happen. I had numerous hand lotions (i’m obsessed) and chapsticks on my night stand. She picked out my lip butter and ate it! Little freak.”

Me: “Oh no! Can’t say I didn’t try to warn you….that’s exactly how my other customer lost hers – off the night stand. Her dog ate everything but the cap!”

My friend: “Maybe you could venture into the dog food industry.”

  1. Ha! This post made my day. My dog loves soap. If I try to wash him with something he doesn’t like, he won’t get in the bath. If he likes the scent, he hops right in.

  2. Love it! Our Macduff (a westie) always has to investigate the goodies. Lip balms or butters or my solid lotion bars that have cocoa butter in it are his personal favorites! If you think about it – it’s all fats. No wonder they think it is tasty.
