Is Lavender a Seasonal Fragrance?

lavender flowers 150x150 Is Lavender a Seasonal Fragrance? With the lotion fragrance survey well under way, I received a comment from one of my customers that made me wonder: is lavender a seasonal fragrance? She mentioned that she’s a big fan of lavender, but usually chooses it in the spring and summer months. I’m really NOT a big lavender fan, so I hadn’t really thought about this. I figured that if you liked lavender, you liked it year round. I’d be interested to hear YOUR opinion on the matter – especially if you like lavender! And soapmakers: do you offer lavender scented products all year?

I’m a lavender person…and I like it all year round. In the winter time, I am more pulled towards ‘homey’ scents, but not for a lotion. I don’t want to smell like a bakery. Lol!

  2. Susan Says:

When I had my business open, I sold lavender year round. Lavender, Lavender/Patchouli, Lavender/Ylang Ylang, Lavender Vanilla, Lavender Rose…all of them sold beautifully!

I use lavender year round, too. I like it and a lot of my customers like it, so I always make sure to have some available.

I am such a lavender person! I have always loved the fresh clean scent and when we went to the northwest coast this summer I had to visit some of the lavender farms. They smelled heavenly. I find that if I’m tired, lavender can be invigorating; if I am stressed, it can help me relax. Similar to a cup of tea. In fact, one of my daughters got me some lavender tea for Mother’s Day once — a perfect combinaiton of my favorite things.
