Facial Moisturizer Test Batch #2

Facial Moisturizer Test Batch

Facial Moisturizer Test Batch

I made another test batch of facial moisturizer today. A very small batch. Good thing too! Do you see how bright yellow/orange it is? That’s Sea Buckthorn Berry CO2 Extract making it turn color. I don’t think that’s going to work. I tried adding some Vitamin C Esters, and they were a little tricky to incorporate, and I’m still not a huge fan of the preservative I’ve been trying. So a few more tweaks, and back to the drawing board at least one more time! I am starting to think that less is more. Fewer ingredients…simpler ingredients. I am convinced that the Sea Buckthorn Berry CO2 Extract is beneficial, so I’ll probably still use some – but much less. I do love the feel of the emulsifier – it’s very light and mousse-like in texture.

Pft I don’t give two toots about the color! If it makes my face look orange I’ll just sleep in it over night and wash it off in the morning. Mmmm mousse-like! You’ll get it, Amy! You’re smooth like that!
