Crazy Time!

Crazy time has officially begun. I have less than two weeks to prepare for the farmer’s market, and way too much to do. This is the busiest pre-farmer’s market season in the history of Great Cakes Soapworks. I am so thankful for the orders I have been filling recently, but I’ve decided to put all orders on hold next week as I prepare for the market. Starting this weekend, the website will still be open, but orders will not be processed until Monday, May 4th – after my first weekend at the market.

My friend Kathy came over on Friday and shrinkwrapped soaps for me – I really wasn’t expecting her to do all of them, but she did!! I haven’t counted them officially, but I bet it’s somewhere around 350-400 soaps. No kidding. I am so thankful to have that part done. I need to finish labeling them though.

I mentioned before that the Olathe Farmer’s Market is changing locations this year. I’m very excited about the change. The vendors met at the new location (the Mahaffie Historic Center parking lot) on Saturday afternoon to see where our new booths will be. My booth is number 2! Everyone will be next to the same people they’ve been next to – for the most part. The parking lot is curved instead of straight, so there are a few changes. I’m still between Nick’s Veggie Farm and Joan, aka the Bread Lady. Joan just got out of the hospital from having a hip replacement, so keep her in your prayers!

Tomorrow, I hope to have something to show for a facial moisturizer. Or maybe Wednesday. Like I said, things have been crazy!!!! Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Do you have a shrink wrap that you put the product in the wrapper then use a heat gun. I want one of those. It so where did you get it?

I use the shrink film that I sell on my website – it’s lightweight so you can smell the soaps through the film. Check it out and see if that’s what you are looking for: Smell Through Shrink Wrap If that’s not what you had in mind, let me know. I can probably help.
