Great Cakes Soapworks

Ta-da! Here is your sneak peek at the new Chocolate Strawberry soap for Valentines Day. Yes, it looks like the frosted soap cakes I made before (see the banner on this blog), only these are full-sized. The trick with this fragrance was to figure out how to keep the colors looking the way they should. I started to combine the chocolate and strawberry fragrance (with a hint of musk), but then I realized the chocolate fragrance would discolor the entire soap brown. So, I saved the chocolate for the frosting only, and combined the strawberry and musk for the “cake” part. The scents still meld together, and the soap looks great! The frosting also contains real cocoa powder to attain the rich brown color.

I only wish I had made it sooner. This soap will need to cure as long as possible, and Valentines Day is now less than a month away! I will check it in three weeks and let you know if it’s ready.
