Now that we’re in the high heat of summer, you may be wondering what you can do to repair the damage to your hair from the sun and chlorine. I have a really great recipe for a hair mask. Just three easily obtainable ingredients. If you would like to test it for me this week, just make a comment on this post, and I will send the recipe to you. Need Another Skin Care Recipe?

Just thought I’d check in with you all and see if you are ready for another skin care recipe to try at home. I have tested a Papaya-Pumpkin facial, but it’s only so-so. It made a LOT too, so if anyone wants to come over and try it, I have a big bowlful in my fridge.

If you’re not too busy right now…let me know if you want me to keep looking for a fabulous recipe! Or tell me when would be a better time. You know, like after school gets out!

Need Testers for New Bug Off Spray!

Today I was working on my new Bug Off Spray formulation. I’d like to get some people to test it for me before I start selling it. I’m not sure when the bugs will start coming out, but as soon as they do, I’ll need some help! I currently sell a Bug Off Soap and Solid Stick that have received rave reviews. In fact I was just talking to Nancy, one of the other vendors at the local farmer’s market, on Saturday and she was telling that she took my Bug Off Soap to the Amazon a few weeks ago and it worked great!

The Bug Off Spray is going to have the same insect repelling essential oils in it as the soap and solid stick, but the base will be a little bit different and I want to be sure that it doesn’t stain clothes or sting anyone’s skin, etc. And of course I want to know if it keeps the bugs off! If you are interested, please make a comment on this post. I would prefer to have people who can get the product from me locally if possible. I will take up to 10 people – so keep signing up!

I had four people test the Easy Sugar Scrub recipe and give their feedback. Each of them was entered into a prize drawing for a small vial of essential or fragrance oil of their choice which they can use to scent their own sugar scrub, as well as a Sugar Scrub from Great Cakes Soapworks (handmade by me!). I make an emulsified scrub, which simply means that when the water hits the oils, it forms a lotion instead of an oil slick in your shower. Not only does it make your skin smooth and exfoliated, but it rinses away cleanly. Always an added bonus!

Anyone who would like to participate by testing the skin care recipes at home is welcome! Prizes are involved… There will be several different recipes to try. Whenever I announce what the next recipe and prize will be, you will have two days to add your comment that you would like to test it, and I will send it out to you, along with the guidelines. I had a great idea to get my readers involved in the skin care at home recipes. How about some testers who get the recipe ahead of time & give feedback. Here’s the best part: Each tester has a chance at winning a free gift from me! If you volunteer to participate, I will send you a skin care recipe to try at home, made from easily obtained ingredients, or ingredients you may already have. You will have one week to try it out and send me your feedback on how it worked for you. (I will test the recipe out for myself before sending it to you.)
