There IS a difference between a handmade lotion and the lotions you find at the store. Number one difference is that most lotions you find at the store (even your favorite bath & body store) are made with petrolatum or mineral oil. You won’t find very many with aloe vera juice as the first ingredient. And I would be very surprised if you found one with a natural preservative. (I use citric acid and silver citrate.) Get rid of the gunk, and discover the difference of a handmade natural lotion on your skin!

My new hydrangea for Mother's Day

My husband planned ahead and already bought me a beautiful pink hydrangea bush for Mother’s Day. He wanted me to have something nice before all the flowers were too “picked over”. Isn’t he sweet? Several years ago he bought me one in blue. I planted it on the east side of our house and it still comes back each year – and blooms! I’ve heard that the acidity of the soil determines the color of the blooms, so I’ll be anxious to see if the new plant will stay pink once I plant it in the ground.
