A Little Vacation
I’m taking a little vacation the next four days. I get to visit my friend Summer in Ohio! She’s one of my very best friends, and if I didn’t have a soap business, we never would have met. Summer bought some soap from me at the Olathe Farmer’s Market in 2005, and ended up coming to my Christmas Open House later that fall. At the Open House, we got to know each other a little bit and realized we had quite a bit in common. She started coming to the women’s Bible study at my church and we became really good friends – and so did our kids – as we started spending more time together.
Then a terrible thing happened (in my point of view, of course). Summer’s husband graduated from seminary and they moved to Ohio in June 2006 so that he could be a youth pastor there. Now, we’ve stayed in touch with each other and even took our family vacations together in Florida in August of 2007. Our last shindig was our girls weekend in Petersburg, Illinois last April. Good times. However, since then Summer had a new baby girl in June and I am so excited to meet her! So off to Ohio I will go. If you behave while I’m gone, I’ll show you a picture of her baby when I get back. Oh, and maybe it will be time for another giveaway too.
